Jesus said it was forever and John chapter 6 verse 47. He also said it in present tense possession, which means you can have it today if you believe in for it. So if I believe him for it, and I have this eternal life that starts the second I believe in for it how long will it last? Seems like a silly question doesn’t it? Eternal means It’s perpetual.
