Help please my mountain bike chain keeps slipping/sticking .

I found 1 link that was stuck.
Opened the chain up at that link and closed it back up. And it's been back perfect

Tighten the cable- may need more tension- as someone above stated

You can try to align hanger with tool special.

I bought a new one and add that same problem... I went through every part of the chain and bend it... there will be one that does not bend, that one will be your problem. In my case I think since it was a cheap bicycle in factory they put more pressure on the one that closed the chain. What I had to do because I dont have specific tools was to put a bit of WD-40 and use a screwdriver to loosen the pivot on the chain that was to tight. Hope it helps.

So for me it was a stiff chain link. Once i manually rotated the chain and saw which specific link was stiff, i flexed it up and down AND side to side but it was still getting stuck and making the chain skip when it passed over a gear. I finally thought to maybe stick something actually inside of the stiff link to widen the link itself. This is what fixed it for me.

Put new chain and cassette on yet it it's now worse for skipping than before mostly when crossing a road soon as I apply pressure it skips and I don't need this in the middle of the road chain getting messed up

Do the indexing properly the chain is touching the next sprocket & keeps pulling your derailer

you can use a chain cutter to unstuck the chain and slightly use the hammer to put back the pin again

Get a bike chain tool to loosen the plates. That chain is still fresh.

Go slowly and you might find a roller which is rusted or stuck. It doesn't move along the cassette use wd40👍

Firstly remove excess oil from chain and use correct gear or reset cable tension

Guys this wat i found dont use chain cleaner with anti rust instead use degreaser only if u want ur chain forever😊

I pedal and hear what I thought was a bottom bracket bearing creaking...changed it with new crankset and still same sound..checked chain and found out it was not stretched but had a few wore pins..

Use liquid lubricants on the chain where it’s stiff work it out by twisting the link no need to buy new chain

could be the jockey wheel tooth worn away that can cause the chain to slip.
