Justice's strongest core album since Cross, but could still use a bit more focus.

Mannequin Love being meh to him is baffling. That track has refused to leave my mind

One thing I like about Justice is that in recent interviews they already clearly admit that they are a disco band. They have also previously mentioned that they have always felt more attracted to rock music and everything oldie than to EDM. They really are music lovers and it shows

I’ll take the score. Us 2000’s indie kids are eating well this year

I feel like AVD gets too much hate because of how good *†* was

As much as people would like another album like Cross, Justice just… doesn’t seem to roll like that. They seem very much happy to try a different sound in each album. Each album sounds very unique, while also retaining some elements that make their sound special. I think it would be hard to make an album that lives up to, or exceeds what they made in cross. That album is basically lightning in a bottle, and Justice seems to know that. I also saw a recent interview just right before Hyperdrama that said that they always start each album with a clean slate, like they’re learning to make music again. Take that how you want, but yeah.
Personally speaking, I agree that cross is their most solid album, but in general, I love all their albums the same amount.

French artists need to start spending more money on leather jackets and cigarettes and not on good studio equipment

That was the most 6/10 sounding 7/10 review I’ve ever watched

Dear Alan is a tribute to Alan Braxe. They sampled the intro to Jets “Crush on You”, same sample as Braxe’s biggest song “Intro.” Classic record with Fred Falke.

I guess I'm lucky because I wasn't that familiar with Justice and I had never heard "Cross", so I had no preconceived ideas about them when I saw their live shows streamed from Coachella this month. I was essentially hearing them for the first time and...wow. At some point during the incredible energy of "Chorus Hyperdrive", watching Xavier delightfully feeding off the crowd's reactions, I became Justice's newest fan for life. I couldn't get on Ticketmaster fast enough to buy tickets to their Boston show. I've been going to concerts for over 50 years and it's rare for me to react like that when seeing an act for the first time. When "Hyperdrama" arrived a week later it was like hearing "Dark Side of the Moon" for the first time. The care, crafting and originality displayed on this record just blows me away.

Do the M-E-L-O-N was not a lyric on the album

You are not a Justice fan, you’re a Cross fan

It's definitely their best album since Cross, honestly exceeding it in a couple of places. I did really enjoy AVD and Woman, but Hyperdrama's on another level- easy 9 imo.

Love the album. Something I think is lost in context though is how Justice albums are made with live performances in mind. They give us fire stand alone disco tracks/albums to then sample them into the best house performances like access all arenas and woman worldwide.
Disco album Alley-oop into live show slam dunk.
I think anyone who saw the Coachella performance will appreciate this album more.

Something important to mention about Woman Worldwide is that it's not a remix album as much as it is just a studio-recorded version of their live albums. If you found the more intense style appealing, it is definitely worth checking out their live albums for Cross and A.V.D as they scratch a similar itch and there's some absolute stand-out moments exclusive to them. (One of my favourites being the latter half of Horsepower where the drop is turned DEAFENINGLY loud.)

Cross was exceptional, and I don't think it's reasonable to expect the same thing 17 years later. I love Hyperdrama for what it is, and it is a significant improvement over the last two Justice albums. Dear Alan just hits all the right spots.

I love how much of a pivot the record takes from Moonlight Rendez-vous onwards. It offers a change of pace from the rest of Justice's catalogue, taking things in a more progressive electronica route. The build from Muscle Memory into the Harpy Dream interlude adds a lot of tension. I wasn't crazy about Saturnine as a single but putting it after the Prog stretch from MRV through Harpy Dream really gives it a gravity that I felt was missing previously.

this album is definitely their best since their debut. still think cross is significantly better but this is the closest they’ve gotten to recapturing the magic from that record. neverender and afterimage are my favs.
