Royole got in touch with me and asked if I would be interested to check out their latest device, the RoWrite 2. After checking the device, it seemed like an interesting piece of technology, and they kindly sent over a review unit. Let's unbox it and see what's it like and what the first impressions are :)

I've got a bit of bad news. I've injured my shoulder, and at the moment I can't use the computer, or write for at least another couple of days, probably until next week or so. This means that I am unable to test the devices, or do the reviews I planned for next week and that indepth reviews of Kobo Elipsa and RoWrite2 will be delayed. As for new videos for next week, I don't know, as some editing is always necessary, even for simple videos, and at the moment I can't use the mouse at all, we'll have to see.
So I just wanted to let you know about the delay, to know what's going on.

Interested to see it working when you do the in depth review, and how well it copes as you use up pages in the notebook. I wonder if the pen cartridges are expensive to replace? Good unboxing vid as always. Be safe.

Hahh !! I'd love to see how it's handling the "take back where I left on the last page" when you re-open the notebook and "create a new page" features : Wacom did experiment on this kind of technology, I had one a long time ago I suppose they've largely upgraded it by now but at the time if I remember correctly you had to tap a button each time you wanted to flip a page in order for the device to know that it's supposed to start from scratch rather than keep writing on the previous page. I always felt it was lacking something in product development because of that so I'm really curious for this new generation :-)

I bought this device 3 months ago and I quickly bought a Supernote A5X afterwards given the multitude of possibilities offered by an e-ink tablet.
But I'm sure it's interesting for students who want to easily digitize their note-taking and lessons, and who don't have the budget to buy an e-ink tablet (substantial budget ...)

This does seem like a good idea but does not really serve the purpose of saving paper. Maybe if they can combine these with those LCD papers (like the ones from Boogie board) as they can be made very thin and offer them as an add-on that would be a great addition.

Hi, I can't connect the rowrite to pc. Bluethooth only works on cell and tablet, not pc. I don't know why. Someone can help me?

Would've been good to get a preview of how the output looks on the smartphone, even though this is just the unboxing, I'm sure the in depth guide will cover this, but would have been good to have a short demo in this video.

I have a bamboo slate same concept wacom quality and impressive OCR I have also a mobiscibe (because of you) and use both devices for different uses
