Filigree Friday with Denny

Filigree is common, but not commonly talked about. Denny is a master when it comes to creating beautifully crafted filigree belts as well as other projects. Tune in to either better your skills or learn something new!
(Filigree is when you cut through the leather to reveal an amazing carved pattern and many times is backed to better enhance the design)

I've seen the old metallic suede that they put under the designs on the Tony Lama belt back in the 1980s

People have laughed at me when I tell them I sharpen #11 blades before using them! I use Zam polishing compound for turquoise stones to load my strops, wheels and a leather belt on my 1X42 inch bench sander. I put a smaller sheeve on the motor to keep from burning up the glue joint on the belts.

I have the same personality as that girl.. Making eye contact is incredibly difficult, I'm always laughing at stuff that isn't funny. I don't know what to do with my eyes and the more I think about it, the less natural it seems. I don't even know the name for what she and I have.. I feel like it's probably autism of some sort. It's very hard to form relationships.

Denny my man, I sure wish you would venture away from Sheridan Style a little bit. See something a little bit different, like Lilys, Roses, anything! The same Ol' same Ol' has just gotten so boring for me that I almost hate it. I've never been much for the Sheridan Style, looking for something different and more stylish. I know it would be quite hard for you, but man it sure would be nice to see something a little different for a change. Especially in the Filigree Look!
Won't you PLEASE??? Give it a try??? I know you have it in you, and I KNOW...YOU CAN DO IT!!!
I will admit your work is as good as it gets, and I'm sure you have no problem selling what you make. But just imagine someone that comes to the store regularly and see's something a little different...and JUST HAS TO HAVE IT, because Denny made it and it's NOT Sheridan style! And what it would bring? $$$
