Curator Stephen Fagin details the fascinating history (and tragic fate) of the Kennedy assassination dioramas that were featured in the Southwestern Historical Wax Museum in Dallas, beginning in 1964. From the Museum’s Collection, he shares an original brochure and photo postcards as well as some rare color film taken by the Dallas NBC affiliate, WBAP-TV. #history #collections #waxmuseum

When I was in 5th grade in Miami Florida we took a field trip to a south Florida wax museum -- it included JFK and Jackie on arrival in Dallas as they approached the limousine (I recall a real convertible Lincoln Continental in diorama -- perhaps a conventional one not as long as the SS-100X). In my early 30s my father and I vidited Sixth Floor Museum; he passed the next year. Idk if I'll get to visit again (poor health and tight budget).
