that's how we did it on Trident submarines....two crews, one takes the boat out to sea for up to 90 days while the other is in port training....then the submarine comes back and we switch places. Of course it's a ship of war, so far more stressful than a cruise ship... I'm too old to go back to it anyway, I'm 46. lol :-) Captain is very beautiful :-O

Thats the Nautical Life. Chief Makoi does 5-7 months on and several months off. WE 95ers forget that you really work 7 days a week for that period.

Knew a captain on a military pre positioned ship - in 1996. Worked 4 on 4 off. Moored in a lagoon of a secluded base. We civies went over on weekends and " Party Time". The crew were fabulous and you could eat off the deck of the engine room.
