"cLiMAte ChANge IsNT rEaL" how are we having so many climate catastrophes all at once? We need to change immediately, otherwise we are done! Build your homes from bricks and stones folks….I don’t get it !!!! Why are home made from concrete in California which is horrible for earthquakes and homes built from wood in Florida which is horrible for Hurricanes????

Something I dont understand is why America makes their houses mostly out of wood and planks.... Im looking to move to Florida and build a house out of reinforced concrete and bricks. Nothing can escape the force of nature but reinforced concrete can hold up much more than wood.

You live in Florida… on the water, and it’s hurricane season EVERY YEAR!
Just yesterday I made a comment about why Floridians stay if they know they can get a short notice that everything they call home is gonna be snatched away in days?? Now I know they think it can’t happen. I live in the North and I even I see it happening every year. They years it doesn’t happen surprise me, not this.

Florida Death Tolls: Ian = 33 reported; COVID-19 = 81, 369 (7-day average of 42). Wish DeSantis would have supported mandates for BOTH emergencies, but I guess he couldn't cover up a hurricane, right?

You move to or have lived in Florida your entire life and say "we never thought it would happen to us". Not logical thinking considering we see one every year. There's no safe place in the entire state from a hurricane. Folks are so numb in thinking a hurricane is just a really bad thunder storm. People, a hurricane will and can cost you everything you own, and your life. C'mon, use some sense here. If you can afford to have a place on an island or beach, you have the means to recover. May take awhile but you're not hurting, unless you're living beyond your means.
