player ratings depend on their physical, mental and technical side.
So if you lack in one area or the other, your rating is likely to be lower
I had a home grown player by the name '' jose miguel'' a CM. he had 89 ball control, 99 dribbling, 89 long pass, 89 short pass, 90 curve, 85 long shots and so on.
In his mental side, he had 67 vision and 77 attack position. His physical ability was in the 80's overall. His overall rating was 78 at his peak. Not really about rating just ability.

When I play, Messi is 90 as ST, 91 as LM, and Ronaldo is 89 as LM, 92 as ST

Wow, I can't believe people have debates over who is better. It's purely subjective. And the amount of goals scored doesn't make a player "better". It just means they're good "finishers". In order to finish, you need to have "started" a good play. And finishers certainly don't create plays. For example, Ozil is an amazing playmaker and probably the real reason why Ronaldo is able to score as many goals as he did.

mario gomez he had 84 in fifa 11 and pace 84, shoot 87, heading 88, then last season he scored 28 goals, now hes again the topscorer with 15 goals and 6 champiosnleaugue, but now he got 78 pace shoot 79, and heading 82 but totally 86, does that make any sence

@JOVKelly I think most attackers are better in fifa because they can dribble, shoot (from range), pass, jumping etc. Defenders have got Sliding/standing tackle, jumping, interceptions and heading. But I do agree that it should be more balanced

I think Rooney is a great player. I'm a Barca fan as well. FIFA 13 should boost Cavani and Falcao because they are the best strikers in the world aside form Rooney, Villa and Drogba!

Sneijder is out of form and has been for awhile, he is really struggling at Inter. Robben is inconsistent. Lahm is definitely regarded as one of the best defenders, it does help playing with Manuel Nueur behind you though. I get a feeling that you basing your 'list' on what players are good in FIFA 12.
