Traveled there once by train in order to take my husband to the knife museum. I believe I may have enjoyed it even more than he did.

Thanks Stu for this video - very interesting. I have been to Albacete briefly when on coach trips but haven't seen it like this.

A great video Stuart. Thanks for sharing. Last time I was in Albacete was about 30 years ago and it was a run down, filthy dirty place. It's really nice to see that so much has been done to make it better and that there is still major investment on going.
Looking forward to your next out and about vid. Saludos.😀👍

Enjoyed the video. Looks like a typical Spanish city. The calle with the pillars was cool. Bet Mia enjoyed the brisk walk.

Very cool walking tour! As someone who has an appreciation for pocket knives and a love of Spain. It was fun to watch a walking tour around the streets of Albacete! A very rich history of knives around the Castilla-La Mancha province! Thanks for posting!

Thanks, Stuart. The city looks much nicer than I expected. Guidebooks and novels I've read have portrayed it as grim and industrial.

I find it a shame that practically all the city centres look the same in Spain. As do the cities in England I hasten to add, with some exceptions. They are all the same kinds of shops, bars, cafes. Even the buildings look the same. I always head out to the countryside or the coast if possible. Thanks for posting the video.

Just looks like Manchester. Maybe that's why one of our criminals runs a gym there!

Albacete (/ˌælbəˈseɪti/, [2][3] also US: /ˌɑːlbɑːˈseɪteɪ/, [4][5] Spanish: [alβaˈθete]; Arabic: ﭐَلبَسِيط, romanized: Al-Basīṭ) is a city and municipality in the Spanish autonomous community of Castilla–La Mancha, and capital of the province of Albacete.

The origins of the city are uncertain, with the earliest proof of settlement dating to the time of Al-Andalus, when the settlement was originally named البسيط (Al-Basīṭ), meaning "The Flat" in Arabic, referring to the flat land around. Albacete was the main headquarters of the International Brigades during the Spanish Civil War
Basit in Arabic also means pleasant or satisfying..

Mia didn't react to any of the dogs, very bien-educada. And the works meant that she couldn't sniff a lot of trees, poor thing.

Was it just a stop over or visiting? Albacete is not a remarkable place by any means. Buses going to Torrevieja would stop there. I'm told they make the best navajas home to multinationals, has 5 large industrial zones and a robust aviation industry.
