Using dristan nose spray for 10 years completely ate away my septum, started using it for a stuffed nose and ended up getting hooked on it, my nose was stuffed 99% of the time and only way to clear it was with nose spray, it’s called rebound action, trust me don’t use any type of nose spray

I had septoplasty in February and now i found by another ENT that i had a large nasal perforation (which is done during my septoplasty 😭😭) is there any surgery for this large nasal perforation...because my nose shape has been disturbed badly after septoplasty. I have a huge hole in my nose from a decade of nasal spray abuse. Pretty much at the verge of wanting to end it all. None of these ENTs can help and the stupid steroid sprays to they gave me made it worse. I get two hours of sleep a night now, life is a never-ending nightmare. Why can't I find the right help

I’m 22 and have a large hole from years of occasional drug use and excessive picking. Just had an appointment at and ENT and they said no one will touch it if it’s drug induced. Going to try to go private but worried no one will be able to fix it. So full of regret and sadness right now! 😢

I was born with a deviated septum but didn't know about this until my 20's. I used dristan and my septum started to get a hole. I had surgery in 1992 to fix the deviation but unfortunately the damage was done. I recently visited a doctor that told me the hole is too big to treat and basically I have no options. This saddens me. My oxygen levels are really good and the bridge of my nose seems very good (his words) but the hole is too large for surgery. Should I get a second opinion?

I was born with a septal perforation but didn't find out until I was 27, and as such, always had unexplainable nasal crusting causing me to pick my nose, and of course every doctor ever recommends Flonase when they hear I have allergies. I had a septoplasty a year ago and was fine for seven glorious weeks, followed after care instructions as if they were my new religion, and the perforation came back anyway. This time it's 3mm in width, too small to place a nasal button so it requires another operation. But first I'm being tested for GPA and other autoimmune conditions to make sure I don't have something of that nature going untreated before they try again.

im only 17 and i have a small perforation from when i was younger and had rhinotillexomania due to stress and its honestly one of my biggest insecurities and fears. i have auto immune issues so i already feel at risk enough but the sinus issues and constant stuffy/dry feeling really doesnt help </3 i wish there was a more affordable way to fix this as i dont think ill be able to afford to travel and get surgery for years (and i dont think it would be free on the NHS for me)
