These were the days. I'm sitting here with kids of my own, but I think back to playing a PS1 sitting in my room while everything was covered in snow. I remember my mom being youthful, I remember what it was like to not have any worries, watching CW cartoons on a Saturday morning and playing tony hawk pro skater one at night. Damn this edible is really hitting

Went and met the Zero/ Mystery teams at Goodtimes SA Skate Shop a bunch of years ago, I landed a 540 flip in front of JT and he gave me a “Wow” and a clap. So badass lol

Side story: Met the Baker/ Deathwish teams on the Moonwalk Riverfront in NOLA. Stuck a 540 flip in front of Lizard King and Reynolds while Slash recorded us with my phone skating around. They both were trying to do it after I did it but couldn’t, gave me props, shit blew my mind. All this while the whole rest of the team were all rolling joints together sitting by the Mississippi River, one of the coolest times of my life

Jamie was also my favourite pro back then, and favourite to play as.

I think as I have always had a shaved head, too, I felt some affinity there. Then the general like hardcore aesthetic was what I was also into.

When I seen him with long hair, I didn't even know it was the same dude, at first, ha ha.

I guess maybe there is something in this whole modern thing where people feel they need to see themselves in a character/athelete etc, at least when I was a lot younger, I would gravitate towards dudes that were into similar stuff.

My old THPS2 character really did look like me though. I used to wear a Koby Jersey (home colours) with shaved head and jeans. They had a yellow jersey and jeans that looked like what I would wear.

I remember my neighbour coming round, and seeing me play, and kept saying "the character looks like you" I tried to explain for around 20 minutes that I created the character, so that's why, but he just didn't get it. hahaha.

This is such a good channel. Skating has needed this.

I always take the 2 dark slides as my grinds. I do love darkside/slide tricks, but I mainly took the 2nd one because the rest of the grinds seemed so gimicky to me (THPS 1/2 remakes)

I use the 360 flip/casper flip manual (or something like that) it's something like that anyway, I can't remember the full thing.

I can never remember what I have set as my air tricks, as i only really use the ramps to get a muliplier started, then head to the rails and stuff.

I do like skating vert and bowls, but they don't like me :D ha ha. I can never get a big trick. I get maybe 3 revert to manuals and then I choke.

Probably just need more practice TBH though. It was literal decades since I last played a THPS game.

PS: I always pick the stuff that's most aesthetic and closest to a trick from real life I'd be stoked on.

That being said, the Jango Fett jetpack special from THPS4 was rad.

I was pretty good at 540 flips flat ground. Pulled it out in a game of skate first try the first attempt and ever since i started doing them I was landing them like 70% of the time I tried. Also did them with big flips making it a bigger flip. Got to a point where i was trying flat 720 flips but ate my shins up doing the quick flicks so much that i quit trying those lol was stupid good at doing legit Casper flips too. The nice pop, half flip then flip back 180 shove. Used to light up my friends in skate. Just never liked doing huge stuff. Dropped off a 9-10 foot wall in a hotel parking lot and did some decent ledges but wasnt my thing. I liked smaller but technical

Funny trick to the 540 flip in real life, just scoop the tail with an extra shuv-it worth of force on top of the feel of doing a 360flip. Sounds so obvious it seems dumb but it works
