Gary's lived in America for so long now that his London accent goes into different ones. At 0.33 it goes Australian.

My biggest fear is that one day I'm going to hear someone say 'CUT', and it turns out that I was Gary Oldman the whole time.

What's actually incredible is by Gary Oldman turning it down, it created a magical partnership between Johnny Depp and Tim Burton which lasted his entire career and opened many doors.

It's interesting how Oldman's everyday voice in interviews is much higher-pitched than the voice he uses in movies.

When I read the screenplay for Edward Scissorhands, it did cross my mind about how hard it must’ve been to convey what the film wanted to achieve in words only.

Johnny owned it. But I tell you what, Gary Oldman could have been very interesting.

What a champ. Firstly recognizing and secondly admitting such a mistake of judgement is a true sign of professionalism.

His accent takes about 3 trips around the world in 1 minute

Worked out well. I’m assuming he passed on playing Edward. Johnny had that innocent looking face that made it so much more effective in my opinion.

Gary really killed it in 'Leon: The Professional'. It is one of my all time favorite performances.

Crazy to think how it could’ve rewrote history for Depp, being his first work with Burton, and they went on to do many films together after their collaboration on Scissorhands. He would’ve never met his then girlfriend Winona either. Depp had that perfect innocence and quirkiness about him.

Every time I see this guy he’s got a different accent

Gary didn't get that it was a modern fairy tale, an easy mistake to make when you are reading a script I bet.

Kevin Costner, one of the very few actors/ directors that’s a true teacher.
Lovely man .

When Gary Oldman talks it during interviews, he is concise, low tone, and very educated. With all the parts that he played, it is hard to see that he is the same person. And that is a good Actor. In fact he is an amazing Actor. We are so lucky to have him our generation.

I think Gary is an amazing actor with a variety of roles that he made very memorable. I don’t particularly care for depp although I’ve enjoyed some of his movies but I can’t imagine anyone else in Edward scissor hands no matter how good of an actor they are.

One of Gary Oldman's very best and chilling performances is in the little known movie 'The Firm (1989)' No, not the lawyer movie with Tom Cruise. This one is about British football hooliganism. If you liked his performance in 'Leon/The Professional' then you should definitely check this movie out also.
