Honestly reneé’s Regina really does remind me of the “popular” girls in my high school (I graduated like 2 years ago) where the way they talk is so chill and down to earth and they don’t care about anything. That being said the ‘Regina’ of my school was a lovely individual who’s much more like the actual person reneé Rapp and much less like the character but still it’s nice to see that general vibe being reflected in the new adaptation!

That’s just new bullying vs old bullying. Back in the day you’d literally get beat to hell if you were as vocal as the New R is. Old R was sneaky because being liked meant you had power. Praise was more powerful than fear and sometimes that praise still came with fear out of being ostracized. New R uses fear and open hostility because she seems like she’s okay with throwing hands, or she knows she has people who would defend her if she had to fight. She seems confident and cocky in such a modern way I’m 100% sure she could run for president and still get elected just by her presence alone. She is a different kind of popular bully and that’s why he take is so refreshing. She’s still playing the part, just for a different generation and for a different kind of trauma.

Would've loved to have seen Amanda Seyfried's Regina since that audition terrified the producers 😂

I think since Renee played Regina in the stage musical she was able to really develop the character more

Renee added a touch of Heather Chandler into her Regina and it worked so well.

Renée really emulated the intimidating “cool girl” and it was so GOOD

I think that they both match the time period it was set in (I think)

Also, renee is my biggest celebrity crush.
The og mean girls is great, but when renee says, “get in loser, ” I get flushed.

I like it when ppl put their own spin on characters. Not everything has to be the same. Its like when ppl sample music and out their own spin on it, really cool

I think old Regina is “better” because she has a different atmosphere, she managed to make people that don’t care about social status, attention and shallow things care about it because of how charming and charismatic she is. New Regina is what Regina “really” is. But Renee made a really good job with her, especially because out of all the character she was the only one I genuinely liked lol

Renee's Regina is Mean Girls The Musical's Regina. The way she "dominates" is a lot through her confident "boss" energy. I love that Renee didn't try to change it just for the sake of change. She knew who the character was and how she worked among the other characters. She has lived in this Regina 8 times a week for 6 months. Honestly, back then she was still (very reasonably) not fully there in the boss energy, because she was sooo young, just started on Broadway in such a major role and surrounded by an older cast. In this movie she has fully grown into it and fully got where it was very obvious she could get.

other than the clothing choices i thought it was a really fun movie and a pretty good adaptation. some of their outfits weren’t very ‘mean girls’ to me but they did feel a lot more current and gave the vibes of mean girls at schools now.

Rachel McAdams Regina is a hidden snake, a coward in conflict, and even passive aggressive. Renée Rapp Regina is powerfully outspoken, a snake in your face, and just plain mean. Both are great!

Regina George is cool, super cool. Rachel was a chic, beautiful, classy R and Reneé is a powerful, tough, hot R. They both got it right and understood the character.

Renee’s Regina feels like a real life bully, they’re often brash and super in your face about their dislike of you, and get off on it like what you just said. She did an excellent job

Both are perfect in their own way and really work to the advantage of how society views what personality traits make a woman a “mean girl” during that time period.
Props to both actresses for absolutely nailing their roles!!

Reneés performance is very theatrical due to her being Regina in the musical version of mean girls
