It's a crime against music every time a radio station plays this without the Get Away ending. So good.

Chicago is so amazing that they named a city after the band.

My son, who is 15 and a trumpet player, is horrified that the "get away" portion is regularly cut off on most broadcasts. "Why would they not play that?! It's the best part of the song!" Yes, my son. I agree.

The “get away” finale is about as good as it gets. It’s so infectious and it leaves you wanting more 100%. This should have been a separate track.

I’m a huge fan of the original Chicago when they were more experimental, but this is one of my favorite songs of all time. I hear a lot of people that like the early stuff trash on these years and I get it, but I think it was a lot of really beautiful and intelligent classic rock ballads and songs. One of the greatest bands period in my opinion.

One of two-part songs that you hear ONCE on the radio and spend the next 20 years trying to find again, because it's just THAT GOOD and you can't get it out of your head.

The connection part within the two parts of completely different rhythm and style as it connects perfectly & flawless in this song has to be the most legendary achievement in musician history

1981: Here is Chicago, showing their mastery with the addition of producer/arranger David Foster, who combines his mastery of ballads with the vocals of Peter Cetera and the band, and letting them loose at the end to show they're still Chicago. A masterwork. Debbie had left about a year and a half before and I played this one on my radio show a lot.

Everybody needs a little time away
I heard her say from each other
Even lovers need a holiday
Far away from each other
Hold me now
It's hard for me to say I'm sorry
I just want you to stay

After all that we've been through
I will make it up to you
I promise to
And after all that's been said and done
You're just the part of me
I can't let go

Couldn't stand to be kept away
Just for the day from your body
Wouldn't wanna be swept away
Far away from the one that I love
Hold me now
It's hard for me to say I'm sorry
I just want you to know

Hold me now
I really want to tell you I'm sorry
I could never let you go

After all that we've been through
I will make it up to you
I promise to
And after all that's been said and done
You're just the part of me
I can't let go

After all that we've been through
I will make it up to you
I promise to
You're gonna be the lucky one

When we get back on that jump in the air
No one'll see us 'cause there's nobody there
After all you know we really don't care
Hold on I'm gonna take you there

Aside from the fantastic harmonies of these guys, and the slowly lifting music, it's a shame 'Get Away' is so short. If this track was 8 minutes, I wouldn't mind.

"Get away" was Lamm's only contribution as a writer for the "16" album. A short piece, but WHAT a piece !

Great band....not one bad song in my opinion. Love Pete's voice. For those nights when you can't sleep.

I was twenty something when this was released as an instant classic! I don’t know man, it was something very special about being young in the 80’s, whether you were 10 or 30, the world has never been quite the same since then, the best and coolest times with the coolest music! So glad to have experienced it!

Love Chicago!!! The city and the music. Once when visiting the Windy City, my son and I were at RJ Grunts on a Saturday afternoon seated by a window. Shortly after being seated, the music playing was “Saturday in the Park”!

I grew up listening to this record. My dad would blast it on our record player. Now I get to do the same thing since my dad gave me all of his records a couple of years ago as a present.

This band has the biggest number of the best rock ballads I´ve heard in my entire life. This one it´s a classic rock ballad. Intense, great lyrics and with an amazing chorus. Ah, and the voice of Peter Satera it´s just unbelievable, it fits so great in this kind of music...
