Lux Prima - Subway Salt

“Subway Salt” is the third extract of Lux Prima's new EP, "Sympathy", which will be released track by track throughout the summer 2019.

“Subway Salt” takes its name from the crystallisation that can happen in the underground when molecules are reaching for the light, yearning to go over ground. Beautiful and imperfect in nature.

The track starts with a sense of beautiful calm, only broken by a shambolic drum beat, creating a feeling of pending chaos, finally brought upon by a distorted bass. All these elements merge together to take the listener onto a distorted and cinematic journey.

Lux Prima's forthcoming "Sympathy" EP was recorded and produced over a period of 18 months in 2018 and 2019.
During the recording process, Lux Prima spent a great deal of time in his East-London studio, experimenting with synthesisers, samplers and a multitude of effects, reaching out to the extreme corners of each machine's possibilities, in order to reach the unexpected sonics that can be heard throughout the EP.

With the "Sympathy" EP, Lux Prima manages to deliver a body of work that covers a wide range of emotions and feelings. The EP gathers its most obvious influences from Detroit techno and 90s British Electronica, but Lux Prima's music on this particular release also allures to a much wider spectrum of influences, from digital dub to easy listening jazz and Krautrock, and many more...
