Glycolysis happens
In the cytosol

A phosphate is striped
A phosphorylation
Caused by the enzyme hexokinase
Next is step 2
Which is a simple shape change
Thanks to the enzyme
Phosphoglucomutase
G6P is isomerized
Into fructose 6 phosphate
No ATP is used

Now moving on
Phosphofructokinase acts here
ATP is consumed
Meaning energy is used
This may seem strange
Because don’t you want to make energy
