Let the Mystery Be (Iris DeMent Cover)

My girlfriend and I just finished binge-watching The Leftovers, an HBO series from a few years back. I love mind-bending mystery/magical realism that isn't afraid to get downright weird and challenge viewer expectations ("Twin Peaks" and "Dark" are two of my all-time favorite shows). "Let the Mystery Be" was the opening theme for Season 2 and the finale and it's been stuck in my head ever since.

What a great songwriter Iris is. Particularly when she was young, she "was willing to go there." I think that gets harder w age; the early work is so often better than the late. Especially in music.
