Norco Fluid VLT C1 140 Review | 2024 eMTB Lite Group Review

We tested the @NorcoBicyclesOfficial Fluid VLT in its shorter travel guise earlier this year, and regularly found ourselves wishing for a bit more. While it was a solid XC-type eBike, we were very happy to get the longer travel 140/150mm model tested here for our lightweight eMTB Shootout. What a difference that build spec and some extra travel can make, ride along as we review the Norco Fluid VLT C1 140.

I love this.

The production work within these videos is Business Class.

I have two of these in the C3 build. This thing is sweet. I'm 182CM, and the S4 (my bike) is absolutely gigantic, but it does feel good in its intended role after pushing the seat forward and installing a 32.5mm stem. If you're looking at this bike, and are shorter than me, I would seriously consider the S3, maybe with some taller bars to bring the stack up.

The choice of making this bike 140mm is a questionable one, but I dont think most people will notice the missing travel on public trails. I think this is a great option for people who ride rolling hills and less aggressive terrain. You won't miss the full size power or suspension travel. It can definitely ride big mountain terrain, but why not get a Wild at that point?

Intersting that they chose 140/150 travel. If they just went with 150/160 cpuld compete with heckler, levo etc

I've been testing a C2 and it's a great all around bike, I kind of wish the C2 had the carbon rear stays but it's not a great loss. I normally ride large Pivots, SCs, etc and the S4 definetly feels like a big bike, at 5 11 I'd definetly opt for the S3. You are right about that saddle, I've never swapped the saddle on a demo bike until now and they should definetly have gone for the enduro casing on the back, the way this bike encourages you to ride that tire was toast on the first ride.

I've seen a lot of complaints about the saddles on a lot of these bikes. What are your ebike saddle recommendations?

I am confused again about your opinion about Bosch SX being good at low cadence. It is totally oposite to all other tests and tech specs.

I've never seen so many commercials in such a short video!☹

I just don't get mid- travel eMTBs. Why not have at least 170mm travel on both ends? Trying to shave a pound or two by putting a FOX36 on a 40+ lb bike is just silly.

Can you pedal the sx motor easily when it's off, and is the Fazua easier?
