Control arms are typically large and strong, so you may be surprised it needs replacing. They contain rubber bushings for smoother rides at the cost of eventual wear, or integrated ball joints that require replacing the entire arm when they wear. This video shows you how to install a new quality TRQ lower control arm with ball joint in your 2004-2012 Volvo S40.

For anyone doing this. Make sure you get the right arm for your car as there are two versions that look exactly the same but have different tapers. It might have a 15/18 mm taper or an 18/21 mm taper on the ball joint end. You won't know unless you check the spindle yourself.

I know this video is a year old. but the front control arm rear bolts should not be torqued to 89 foot lbs. It should be 44 foot lbs + 90 Degrees.

Doesn't do the passenger side where the power steering lines are in the way. Lazy. Call out the freaking socket sizes!!!

Use red thread locker to make it really hard for the next guy : ) otherwise use blue threadlocker.

Don't reuse those bolts! Torqued and angled bolts shouldn't be reused
The suspension should be loaded before you torque those bolts. Expect the bushings to fail sooner.
