Look at the rollers and tensioning system?!? It's an entire disc brake system off a really big truck rotors and the calipers lol! That man's a genius! Love it.

That's cool! The barbed wire tension pulleys are tensioned from brake calipers, probably from a truck. That's a plumped into some sort of hydraulic system. Simple but very effective! The rebar on the pulleys probably act as a wedge that wedge the spikes of the wire until it has enough force to overcome the brakes and it turns the rotors, then the breaks keep the rest still firm

If you look at the components, they sort of say, home built. I'd like to think the gentleman made this all himself. But got to say that is some impressive work...

Hey just chiming in.
But at 3:51 you can see a thin wire/string/chain hooked up right behind left track to post holder fork mount. Put a small weight/red flag on for gauging inter post distance.
Also reels are on 12” brake rotors, callipers are probably plumbed into a central manifold and run off of tractor hydraulics thru an adjustable pressure regulator.

I don't know if anyone's already said this but you can use the hanging chain to pull posts, and if there are big rocks you can pound in a metal spike with a hook welded to it then pull it with the chain.

I've seen a similar machine in the west or Irealand, you have coastal areas which ave a mixture of peaty land and links style coastal areas, just behind large dunes. If the ground is that bumpy and hilly making it plumb it not so important, just need to make sure your livestock is contained doesn't have to be pretty. You will need extra bracing in some areas.

It's easy to miss, but he made some very slick adjustments to the angle of the driver as he worked this. Very pro.

I think the chain is for pulling old posts

In that kind of ground on a straight line a mile a day is achievable, but for sure 3/4 of a mile.

Looks like wheel brakes on the rollers to create tension. Nice gadget.

It's not just the soft ground. That hammer would also drive through rocky ground pretty well
