The first-ever BATTLETECH expansion comes complete with three new ‘Mechs (including the highly anticipated Hatchetman), a challenging new mission type, and a new tropical biome, along with its featured namesake, Flashpoints. Flashpoints are high-stakes branching short stories, comprised of procedural mercenary missions linked together with new crew conversations, special events, critical choices, and valuable rewards. To ramp up the intensity, some Flashpoint stories will feature “Consecutive Deployments” in which players won’t be able to repair their ‘Mechs between missions.

KEY FEATURES
• Flashpoints - Test your command skills in a series of action-packed short stories, completing extended contracts to earn big bonuses.
• New Biome - Navigate a lush tropical beach environment, with sunny shores and just a pinch of alien flare, for good measure. Sunscreen optional.
• New BattleMechs - Get your ‘Mech on with the armor-chopping power of the Hatchetman, the speed and versatility of the Crab, and the multi-range firepower of the Cyclops.
• New Encounter - In “Target Acquisition”, you’ll put your light and medium ‘Mechs to good use by taking control of three territories on the map to prevail!

Yay... another paradox DLC where you get an expansion of the original game by 5-10% for just 50% of the original price :)
Have you ever considered expansions like they did for the Witcher 3? You know the old fashinoed way? Not a million little ones with many features, that should have been in the game in the first place, but actually expansions that deserve that name and are worth the money? Does every single one of your games need to produrce DLCs that cost in total ten times of what the original game costs?

And before anyone writes "you do not need to buy the dlcs". Imagine yourself ordering a burger for 3$ and you get only bread and meat. Afterwards you are offered salad for 1$, sauce for 1, 5$, fries for 50 cents each and a tomato for 1$. What would you say in that case?

I mean seriously: In HOI4 you sell a game just to release the unit models a month later for extra money. What is planned for the next game? DLC for a mini map, DLC for sound, DLC for a coloured version of the game?

Well done, you listened to criticism and gave the game exactly what it needed. More mission variety, more use for lighter mechs, more side stories, more mech designs and so on. Stuff that increases replayability manifold. This bodes well for the franchise as a whole.

While your waiting for this, I will be starting a hardest possible RogueTech campaign. RogueTech features many of the things in this update, if less polished, such as melee mechs and chain missions. Something to watch while your waiting for this, November is going to feel like a long time I think :).

The hachetman, what the community wanted for decades, finally came to life. And the missions reminds me of the MW2 Mercs missions. Does that mean that maybe I cannot repair or just partially

I wish sensors were more important. Electronic countermeasures, long range sensors, seems the role of Light Mechs could be greatly improved by allowing them to fulfill a more critical recon role.

okay so one question, i cant find a loadout that matches the shown hatchet man...looks like 2 lrm 10s, 2 medium lasers, and 2....uh somthings....auto cannons? no way you could fit that much onto a 45 ton mech...any thoughts?

I'm pretty sure it's the Axman AXM-2N in 3D which means timeline is advancing into the 3040s.

The 2D art at the end could be the Hatchetman.

Or they're both the Hatchetman and the one with missiles is a new variant we haven't seen before.

finally a Hatchetman to pilot in a video game. how totally awesome that is. how about adding the Axman and Beserker. yea I know in later years, which means more expansions to buy. but i'm down for every expansion HBS puts out. been a BattleTech/mechwarrior fan since the 80s and am not going to stop now.

I think people are forgetting that now there is a model for a redesigned Hatchetman, it's possible we may see it enter MWO, which may mean the introduction of melee attacks. Just think about that.

Love this game, and I love that they added a 'Mech, but there are plenty of others to add too: the Chameleon and every other 'Mexh produced in or before 3025...they could even add the re-imaged unseen 'Mechs which would make my day.
