I remember how badly India was struggling with wicketkeeper problem back in 90s. They had to carry nayan mongia who had subnormal batting skills. WK was considered an extra spot with no other additional role. Only wk not a wk-batsman. Then Dravid stepped in and finally Dhoni the saviour.

Vijay Yadav was one of best Wicket keeper in 90's. After playing few Internationals from 1992 to Dec 1993, suddenly he was replaced by very ordinary class of Wicket keeper NAYAN MONGIA, who was very useful from match fixing strategies
