EDIT: if Konami is listening, I just want to say Speed Duel Boxes are so fantastic. Having guaranteed cards in the box with just secret rares being randomized is a perfect balance to get people to buy one product and be done with it, I absolutely HATED the speed duel packs. They were so greedy

That's essentially just Heart of the Underdog but with extra steps, and like the swiss brackets it aims to ensure that you're always playing against someone close to your skill level

Battle city is its most successful box, it’s the 25th Anniversary so it just makes sense that they want to push Battle City again. Also I truly think they’re scared to power creep the format to synchro yet. However cards like sea stealth attack, metamorphosed insect queen, psychic mega cyber and potentially poker knight support could be a good power creep to allow stardust and black rose to finally make their appearance… if we even get them 🤣 for now let’s go flame swordsman and gearfried the iron knight!!

5Ds is the last stop of the Yugiboomer Trilogy, and I'm hard pressed at being convinced otherwise. In DL it was out before DSOD, and people will still lose their freaking mind over gigachads like Yusei Fudo and Jack Atlas or remember how much they liked Akiza for her escape from a psychic witch tragedy & nothing else..

to see that duel links got so popular that they made it physically available but with different cards is as interesting as it is cool.

I use to play Rush Duel with normal cards and no extra zones
To be honest I use an oldish Blue Eyes dragon deck eith other Dragons no Blue Eyes fun

I’m actually shocked the 5Ds era still has a stigma around it from Yugiboomers. It’s not even a hard mechanic to understand. It’s literally contact fusion via basic addition.

We did, and Im happy to go back. The original box was the Battle City finals line up, this the other half of that series, so its the Rare Hunters for Yugi and Mako, Espa and Weevil for Joey.

Obviously there will be overlap but Battle City box came out nearly three years ago so this can get the new folks (who jumped in around GX because it proved Speed wasn't dead) a bunch of BC cards and let us patch up some things.

Also I doubt GX is done, Yubel and Sartorious don't have decks yet and others a ton of side characters to boost. For gods sake we have Dark Scorpions now.

5Ds not being included is both a brave decision and one that makes perfect sense, while Synchro is a pretty easy mechanic to understand and play the later cards are way too powerful for the power level of GX and Duel Monsters which stays kinda consistent power level wise even with modern supports

Personally, just happy I can finally get my hands on one. I missed the initial release, so having another chance is really nice.
