John Deer 1070 Clutch Replacement

Hey you guys. In this video we replaced a clutch on a 1998 John deer tractor. Model is a 1070. The clutch was slipping and no longer moved the tractor. Opening the tractor up, we found the clutch was worn all the way down and had gotten hot. This video was made as a little how to for anyone working on a john deer tractor. Also do you know is that a 13 or 15 mm open head torque wrench or did you just go by feel

I got the 1070 how do you do that 18 NM torque spec on a open head no you got a buy a special John Deere tool for that. I was hoping to see you guys take all the garbage off the tractor to get it apart without breaking stuff I ended up breaking one of the tubes it was 170 bucks I wondered if you were supposed to take the dashboard apart how much stuff you got a pull off up there by the injection pump because it seem like a nightmare from hell to get stuff out of there without bending the crap out of it I got my clutch bolted on but I got to get my frame back together and put on the new parts is that final adjustment on the clutch then you just said the pedal play because I find anything on the adult judgment on the clutch I had the manual on the CD but my house burned up. I was wondering which manual or where you got those specs thanks Rob will subscribe your channel too good info what are you rebuild my motor put in a brand new car she never adjusted it and just burned it right out

I also have an 88' deere 1050. 1070 is easier to use tractor with mid range. 1050 is the stronger, simpler tractor. Not really sure how and why but 1050 out works the 1070 easily even tho the hydraulics run at 1.5 gal less, I believe deere changed their "testing methods" as besides power steering 1050 is stronger. One slight issue with 1050 tho is owner needs to do alittle more maintenance.

Probably got hot from redlining the motor and clutch dropping it in 9th gear, yep thats good for it
