Even as a Devils fan, I like the respect you gave to Laf. The Rangers are notorious for underdeveloping talent. He could thrive on another team

The goalie market will be interesting. Ottawa and LA both come to mind as teams who want to compete but have massive questions in net. Hellebuyck and Hart are probably the two biggest names who could be available at the right price

Montreal fans have lost their minds and I say that as a Montreal fan. Dubois has literally said "it's important for me to go where I want to go as a UFA." and he has been vocal about wanting to go to Montreal. WHY ON EARTH DO HABS FANS WANT TO TRADE ANYTHING FOR HIM? They're literally like "let's give Anderson and Florida's pick for him" and I literally cannot understand what they're thinking. Why on earth would we do that? For a year of PLD when we're not a playoff team? Insanity dude

Concerning Lafrenière, or even Kakko, watch the Montreal Canadiens be involved in the rumors. From what has been seen from Kent Hughes so far in his tenure, he seems to love giving redemption arcs to these types of players (case in point: Kirby Dach). I for one would welcome Lafrenière in Montreal.

Lafreniere reminds me of Dach at chicago, seeing glimpses of his talent but couldn’t kept his composure and consistency, perhaps because of the system or the players around him. I would love to see him at MTL with Martin St Louis coaching him, he has too much raw talent to play in a system like the rangers it’s simply not working…

I can't shake the feeling Gustav Nyquist might be coming back to Detroit.

Do you think Alex Debrincat could be traded this summer? He's also an RFA and had an underwhelming year with the Sens being a -31

I doubt Miller to PIT talks resume. As far I know, there was only one guy here that actually wanted JT Miller in black and gold, and the Pens fired him a couple weeks ago.

Miller is too old and expensive for this team, and had fewer 5v5 points than Jason Zucker this year.

I could see Lafreniere doing well in a defensive system, like Florida, Carolina, or Seattle.

Winnipeg could probably get more from another team as a rental than they would get from Montreal

EK65 may not be moved. I believe many teams will be wondering whether this season was just a one time thing, as I am. Even if he is traded, he will not be acquired for as much as he would’ve at the deadline.

I’d love to see Lindholm to Detroit. Would probably have to be a 1st and two top prospects to even get the ball rolling.

I could see Colorado trading a defenseman, most likely Girard, for a real second line center since that was the biggest weak spot for them

I cant be the only hab fan who doesnt want anything to do with PLD

Like you might have said, Vancouver doesn't want to get out of that contract just for the sake of it, they still want something in return. He wasn't a defensive liability very much under Tocchet, he certainly won't ever be a Selke candidate, but he's shown that he has more to give in regard to his two-way play. He also didn't struggle to diagnose what it was that was keeping him off his game in the first half of the season, so I think there is pretty good bounce back potential if you want to call it that

Also, Lindholm's cap hit is 4.85M, not 4.75

Lindholm ( along with a contract extension ) would be a perfect fit in Detroit. Addresses multiple needs, above average 2nd line center behind larkin and he is right handed.

Habs are going to be a tank next season too, so they have no reason to give up much at all. The only reason to give anything up at all is to mitigate the risk that Dubois changes his mind about where he wants to go. Jets might get a 3rd round pick or something.

Please god let Laf be traded, the Rangers are ruining his career

@oHNyquist I know this might sound like a hot and stupid take, but I don't think Montreal will trade for Dubois. Winnipeg won't let him go for nothing and Montreal probably won't want to trade a lot for him. I think what's going to happen is Dubois will sign for one more year with the Jets to get out of his RFA status and the Jets will trade him at the deadline to a contending team that needs a very good forward at a cheaper price. (Cheaper because they know PLD probably won't resign there.) For Winnipeg, it's certainly not the best case scenario, but they probably will get better assets for him than with Montreal.
Now go ahead and roast my prediction internet.
