What the NEW BUTTON Does | Nintendo Switch 2 Gimmick

With all the leaks and rumors about the Nintendo Switch 2 we have a very good idea as for what to expect with the design of Nintendo's next generation console. One of the new additions to the Nintendo Switch successor system however is a new C button that appears under the home button of the right Joy-Con. What could this new button be used for? Is this the Nintendo Switch 2 gimmick? Check out all the speculation here!

It's a Cucumber button. You press it, and it instantly materializes a cucumber in front of you

I still think it's a "connect" button for fast local connection to other Switches, but I'd love a "cast" button to use the Switch 2 like a Wii U gamepad. If the dock is really bigger to the back (more hardware for receiving signal?) and lower at the front it could be possible to use the Switch screen as a second screen for maps, inventory etc. and DS games at all times, handheld and docked.

Realistically, it’s probably a “customizable” quick action button, where you choose what action it has. That would explain why it’s a ‘C’ and not something like a Chat icon or Cast icon.

The “C” stands for “Copyright” and if you press it, Nintendo immediately sues you into the ground. It’s great for fan game developers, content creators and anyone even thinking about using emulators!

I just have to wonder because if the button does mean chat or connect or camera then why would they make it a C? The home button doesn’t just have an ‘H’ on it

I think it’s a control button. Kinda like the steam deck where you can control the brightness and stuff in-game

That "Switch Attach" name kinda makes sense, if you think about the top USB port and accessories/attachments like a camera or mic or something. I must know!

Everyone keeps saying they've taken too long to show it, but really good things take time. Waiting for the right moment is better than tossing out a sloppy reveal and Nintendo is known for releasing new consoles within a few months of an official reveal - so in essence, the upcoming reveal is actually right on time (in respect to its projected release window).

It will be a great system, be patient and good things will come.

For the third back buttons that are said to be used to detach the joycons. What if somehow the c button can allow you to assign a button to those? A "choose" button or whatever, but I do hope it's something actually interesting. No idea how buttons can be used for both detaching and gameplay, but if a pro controller has them, then idk, I'm just confusing myself now.

You guys REALIZE the USB type c on the top to have accessories... one of the accessories is going to be a snap on second screen so we can play DS and 3DS games on the switch 2 through Nintendo Online.... its obvious.

As someone who 1st started out in the GameCube era & wasn’t able to complete a lot of games cuz I needed a link cable to a GBA, the gimmick being separate accessories you buy is the LAST THING I WANT unless you can use 3rd part peripherals or your own phone.

I wish it was for connecting to a) allow the switch to connect without docking or something. Or b) allows you to connect to the switch or switch OLED And now u have a 3ds. And that's when we will get the 3ds games into the online membership That would be the dream for me. A massive better version of the 3dsxl.

My idea for it is kinda out there, but...
What if it's a toggle to turn the right stick from Camera mode to C-STICK mode?
Like, just outright making it so that the right stick functions as both & can swap between functions with a press, so we have even more "buttons" to use?
