Remote Control Battery Hack

Показать описание
A simple way to use a remote control while missing one battery, is to take a paper clip and complete the circuit. This will only use one battery (obviously) and the voltage will be lower so you will need to get closer but it will still work! That way if someone steals a battery from you you can still use your device!

Who TF steals one battery, I always steal two. 😂

This tutorial saved my life, instead of getting a new battery from the closed, I literally spent two hours on bending iron-clip to complete the circuit.

@BloodNinja7 The point is to apply the idea to other devices or for other uses. We do not show you this stuff to pigeon-hole you into one particular idea or thought process, we show you this stuff to get your brain thinking about other possibilities.

Quote from 9v battery hack: "Why would anyone want to steal your batteries?"
One click later, on this video: "...and you find that somebody's stolen your battery!"

this is awesome, now i could still use my remote with 1 battery if a nerd comes in my house and takes a battery out of my remote.

This didn't take a rocket scientist to figure out.

"or you could buy a new battery"

ehm, why are you watching this again?
This video is great, I can use this in many situations. Maybe not with a TV but other stuff.

Nice
Instead of just getting up and getting a battery these guys make it even more complex by making us get up, get a paperclip, bend the paperclip, accidently break it on the first try, get up and get a new paperclip, bend it, attempt to stuff it in a remote, and then finally stand in front of the tv for 5 minutes trying to turn it on with the remote.

This won't work for all remotes, because some strictly require 2.5-3v for the IC to work. But some do not, and will work with 1.5v, just with a dimmer IR LED. If that's the case, you should be able to use it from further away by removing all sunlight (source of IR interference) from the room.

This is why some remotes only require 1.5v, then use a DC booster to make the LED bright enough, and then use two AAs in parallel to increase battery life. But they still work with only one battery!

Finally no i don't have to go to the corner store to get batteries, and just drive to staples to pick up some paper clips.

"this will be good if you have any devises that only work with a remote control and dont have any physical buttons" but i can definitely see your point tho

«Did you already try turning on the TV and realized someone had stolen ONLY ONE battery ?»
Are battery stealers THAT common? and do they always steal only ONE battery ?
Other than that good video.

@timster568 no the paper clips dont have any energy, its just allowing the remote to run on 1 battery
