The Best Gear I Demoed in 2021

So it's time again for my annual review. 2021 was the year I forgot about my bank balance and just bought stuff. In this video I focused on the real standout items; some were new, some have been around for decades, but the thing they have in common is that they brought a smile to my face and made me just want to play. There were a few pedals I forgot to mention such as the Keeley D&M drive, EHX Q Tron and the Carl Martin AC Tone, so if you want to see those in action check out some of my previous videos. I remember being at band practice when one of the guys showed up with his brand new Jet Phaser, EHX Memory Man ( I think), and an EHX Electric Mistress. They were all pretty large and I couldn’t believe the sounds we were able to get outside of the studio. That is one of my few memories of the 70s in South Australia: The state which gear forgot! 😁👍

I've got a Vox AC4HW... it is a notch up from the standard version and does the vox chime extremely well. I've had mine for roughly 2+ years & whilst I'd like an AC15, I just don't need the extra power. I do need to plug it in again... it's been sitting quietly in the corner 😄

Archer has always paired well with humbuckers, seems from your thoughts p90's equally, not surprisingly!

Glad I stumbled on your channel earlier this year I think or was it last year🙄 Hard to keep track of time.

I recommend you check out another Australian pedal builder, Unearthly Effects. I bought his Ourobouros pedal fuzz distortion octave after seeing it on Reverb. I think it's based on the Efil pedal. Anyway, it sounds amazing, turns my guitar into Greg lakes fuzz bass from the 1st ELP album. What hit me out of the box was how well made it is. Fantastic screen printing, quality components, as well as an awesome sound. I recommend you check him out if you haven't already
