Показать описание
Dominating the high, rocky headland, above Falmouth, the great artillery fortress of Pendennis Castle protected the entrance to the river Fal for over 400 years, from Tudor times to the Second World War. As part of an ambitious reinterpretation of Pendennis Castle in Cornwall, English Heritage have conserved and restored to full firing condition, one of the guns from the castle's collection. Dressed in authentic Edwardian uniform a new volunteer gun crew has been recruited and trained to fire this rare 12-pounder QF (quick-firing) gun. Visitors will now get the chance to see and hear this historic gun in action.
