Husqvarna trimmer will not stay running.

I go over how I fixed my Husqvarna 128 LD that was running very poorly.

I do apologize for the noise in the background a lot of work was going on in my area at the time.
The correct spark plug is very important for this engine RCJ8Y. Not a CJ8Y must be a RCJ8Y.

bought one of these several years ago, has ran excellent. Just decided to order new carb, fuel filter ect and clean it up.

Replaced the carburetor. Fuel, checked the spark resister to make sure not plugged, checked the cylinder not damaged still did not run. Checked the sparkplug it was the wrong size. Changed out to right one. Runs like a champ.

I love that you spoke in metric (9mm) - when is America going to join the modern world and go metric? ;-) A few hints: In good writing and good practical youtube videos - "Show don't tell." I'd love to have seen you take the cover and carby off and replace it all. I'm not very practical - and actually showing someone what you're doing and talking it through as you do it is SO comforting to an anxious hardware-phobe like myself. Also, please get a tripod for your phone. I have vertigo and sensory issues with 'shaky-cam'. ;-) Otherwise - thanks so much for the encouragement to do this thing myself and save some money! Had one of these for around 15 years. It was always a gamble whether it started or not. Finally got sick of it and replaced it with a Honda... and have never looked back!

Mine does that, but sitting here reading comments. Its probably the coil getting a lil hot and shuts down. Carbs clean new fuel lines, filter new correct plug. New gas/oil mix. Only thing left, coil!

I have something similar, not sure the model but it ran excellent until last year, it starts after a few pulls instead of one and it runs themselves seems like someone huts the kill switch!!! Out of no where, I drained the fuel and replaced the plug, still doing it, I pulled the carb, cleaned it and blew it out, it looked super clean, screen was clean, it's still doing it

Why does the user manual for 128ld recommend a different spark plug? It says qcj-8y for 128ld

Sounds like metering diaphragm, usually the culprit for odd constant engine speed situations.

Check the gas cap. Has a breather hole. Make sure it’s not clogged. That was my issue

Man I replaced the carburetor, spark plug, and fuel filter. It’s still not running correctly. Restricted and shuts off when I let off the trigger.

I just bought one, seems to run hot, no smoke, and it will run. But as soon as I let off of throttle. It stalls. Idk 🤷‍♂️

This is kinda what mine is doing, I have a 122c. It will start, Run for 5 seconds and stall. Next pull, Starts Runs for 5 seconds and Stalls. Over and over again. It's loosing Spark for sure. On a few occasions it's Ran long enough to get my Yard done. I've Checked every Connection every Ground. I cant figure out what's wrong.

one question for you what do you do when one backfires ? i'll tell you the answer if you can't figure it out i never heard of one backfiring until mine did it the other day they have a few vids on youtube about but not many
