I needed a marcella bow tie for my white tie ensemble that was single faced so I took a spare starched marcella tie and simply one end of the bow flat, sewed it up and now it works perfectly!

Great video I just purchase my first peak lapel single breasted tuxedo and was curious about which bow tie to wear with it...knowing now that my lapels are satin I shall buy a black satin bow tie the single wing bow tie seems like a nice challenge thanks again for this informative video!

Gentleman's Gazette Evening! I see you've followed up on the prior video and I hadn't gotten around to checking in (As I was enjoying your articles on tweed, the OCBD as well as the blazer). The first two are really not substantially different, rather stylistically different (same as, to my suprise, the reversible festive cotton bow tie i ordered for the Fourth which wasn't truly reversible and required a twisting of one end to get the desired effect). There really is only one way to tie a bow tie which doesn't result in the innards of the knot facing out (okay okay, I suppose there is another way it's just improper) as the single end bow is an entirely different animal.

I have 2 single ended ties, my vintage white cotton pique batwing, and a vintage black silk barathea, however, the black one is extremely unique and I've never found one like it, untied it looks like a strang double ended bow but when tied it looks like a single ended bow its also much simpler to tie. my theory on it is back in 1930s England someone wanted to make an elegant yet simple bow tie and so they came up with whatever this is that I have. On either end, it has half of the bow, thus doing a simple knot can tie it. I'd be curious if anyone else has ever seen anything similar.
