Some people full is partial. Too many people do exercise without base knowledge. John is elevating people even when not arround, God bless him.

I’ve also found that hoisting the dumbbells up and doing a very slow eccentric 2-3 times is very effective. Same goes for skullcrushers. After failure, just press the z-bar or dumbbells up and let them slowly come down a few times. Do a drop set after to take it even further.

I will give this a try. But do you need to bring it up to your face? I pin my elbows to my side and focus on flexing which brings it up to my shoulder. Bringing it above my shoulder requires front delt activation since I’m now raising my elbow too. What do you think?

Do you only do the partial reps on the last set of the exercise? Since I'd think that if you do it even in the earlier sets of the exercise then you'd get tired early?
