I live in Sydney and I watched both Laapata Ladies and Superboys of Malegaon in the theatre. The entire place was empty both times. Both the movies only got two shows each. The marketing was subpar. I make sure to watch movies like this in theatres because atleast a. I am excited to watch them with the theatre experience (large screen, popcorn etc). b. If I dont spend my money and watch such movies, I have no right to complain about the Animals and the Pushpas. I also made sure to watch Everything We See As Light at the movies. I know they will be on OTT at some point, but these movies deserve our love, attention and our money.

Nadaaniyan was not nadaan in its intention of inflicting so much pain on the audience. It was unwatchable! Torture devise unleashed

here the director and writer names should also be mentioned, just like their names are to be mentioned when a movie becomes hit

Movies like jaane tu ya jaane na, i hate luv storys, anjaana anjaani were also fluff movies but they were meaningful, with moments of emotions, real friendships, dialogue that sounded real. And the soundtracks were so fresh and so young and still are to this day.

Ibrahim Ali Khan & Khushi Kapoor in Nadaaniyan will make Arjun Kapoor & Sara Ali Khan look like Daniel Day Lewis & Meryl Streep!

The promotions for Naadaniyan was weird. There were no interviews of Ibrahim or Khushi. No fun segments with any YouTubers or promoting through Insta reels. Unlike Archies where there was so much promotion. Also, Saif/Kareena/Amrita did not show up to the launch/premiere. Which again was so odd considering so many family members from Khushi's side were there. Even we didn't see Palak Tiwari even though Vedang Raina attended. So not sure whats going on. The movie was bad but it was almost like Karan already knew it is bad so didn't wanna spend any money on promotions and just sell it to Netflix and be done with it.

I would say Mahima Choudhary also played well, that one scene with Khushi where she tells her that she never cared for herself in the marriage

Even streaming orginals have gone downhill that it's become as easy as picking out which films release in theaters is worth the time and money. Obviously, a monthly subscription is given regardless if I watch 1 movie/show or zero. So, now I just picked Lord of the Rings: The rohirrim on HBO, ajith's tamil film on netflix etc..

The sad part is not ppl cringe watching or roasting it on social media because that’s expected from a bad product ! It should happen with any bad product but the real sad part is Netflix or the makers not accepting the fact that these are bad movies ! Even tho it gives clicks it’s still a bad film with stupid filmmaking ! How can makers and not get this simple fact and try not to repeat it! On the side note I don’t understand how dharma even greenlit this script in 2025 !

Reviewers need to start outwardly calling out casting star kids who are incapable of doing their job. Excusing them by saying “only their first few few movies” is not good enough.

Oh man, I missed the live, but have finished watching - enjoyable as always 🙏🏽
As for the films, well I was so looking forward to seeing Ibrahim, but I guess it's best not to see Nadaaniyan and to remain curious 😜

Superboys Of Malegoan is a film I really wanted to support, BUT, it was playing in a different city, 1 show only, late at night - trains and public transport with minus 5*C temperatures would've made coming back home an issue so I'll have to wait for the OTT.

Mickey 17 wasn't bad, but I wanted more. I totally got what they were saying, but after a point, the film couldn't keep me invested.
Sure, I can praise a few things about it, but it's impact was missing for me and I'll soon forget all about it.

Baaki bas love you guys, bas aise hi aate raho 👍🏼

I think Nadaaniyan has invented deconstructed acting. Let me explain - When dialogue is being spoke, we don't see their face. The camera cuts away to the other characters in the room. Their reactions even before Ibrahim has finished saying his line. On the other hand, when we see them, we don't hear them. The music plays over the debate, emotional moments, wagehra, wagehra. Incompetencies are creating whole new (ineffective) workarounds.

So guys, I had no intention of watching Nadaaniyan (why is it spelled like this, Nadaniyan or Naadaaniyaan would be more consistent, but anyway there are bigger issues here). I randomly chose a scene - which was a park scene where there was some talk of Khushi Kapoor being so hot that it was causing global warming and then Ibrahim is kidnapped(?!?) and when his brown paper bag is removed, violins play and lalalalala moment happens - I mean come on - we did a better job with one hour practice for our college skits. Why is so much airtime being devoted to something this sub-standard. I thought for a moment that perhaps this was intended as a spoof but then spoofs are funny, spoofs are witty, and this is a cringe fest of the nth degree, almost like what I would write after having consumed so many mills and boons books - or who knows - maybe I will do a better job. So my question here once again - why so much discussion around this movie that has been universally disliked - I am very curious.

My exact thoughts was reflected by Ishita! I started the movie and within 10 minutes I stopped it and then you see people writing shitty reviews which means you’re giving Netflix the engagement they want. I wouldn’t be surprised if they produce more such movies, like rage bait on social media. This would indirectly take away from real art. But I also think this is what every generation did and we are not new. It’s just the dystopian side of things are getting to be recorded in real time.
Also Sucharita, I disagree with you on the trolls part. Please don’t compare your trolls with nepo kids getting trolled (although nature of trolls might be same). Your work is important where you are raising voice on art that might have consequences on the society while on the other hand the new kids from Bollywood families going to greater lengths to be in limelight from gaining movies to paying PRs know what they are getting themselves into instead of putting any efforts into their art are two different scenarios.
