The small water reservoir is located 10-15 meters underground,it is rarely seen and it was dedicated to the nymphs and possibly the god Pan in antiquity. We did find some seemingly ancient graffiti on one of its walls with the word PAN(ΠΑΝΟΣ).Its water is realy cold and the trip was well worth it,since we also found a few resident Dolichopoda and a Rinolophus bat living in the cave .Those finds were surprising due to the cave΄s ease of access which makes it a popular destination to people, especialy during their weekend hikes. The cave is located on mount Pentelikon, about half an hour from downtown Athens. The spring is underground and realy easy to miss the small opening that leads to it.
