Give me the OLD Chevy any day over the new. Loved the second generation 67-72 Chevy and GMC trucks. Lots of good memories from back in the day...

I remember going with my grandfather to work in the 70s I was a little boy, we would work all day and on the way home he would stop and get himself a beer and me a soda ... back then you could drink and drive and you didn't have to wear a seat belt😂😂

Nothing beats the ride and feel of an older truck. I love just driving around no speeding just enjoying the ride. I wished the big three would bring back the regular cab short wheel base trucks. Great vid.

And...the 71’ is EMP proof! Plus, with a manual transmission and a granny gear and “positraction “, they were actually pretty good off road.

I sold my new truck. After having a speed sensor go bad that required opening the transmission up to change I got fed up. I drove a 69 Chevy truck daily for over 10 years in the past and I’m going back to a old one. Looking for a 64-72 Chevy to start building my daily driver. New engine with efi and a 5 speed will make me a good driver that will last the rest of my life easily 👍🏻. And I can actually fix the damn thing

I love the dash in the 71, it’s just perfect. I “helped” my dad shop for his new 67 Custom Cab,

It's funny you say its loud and uncomfortable. I actually think the old vehicles were more comfortable than today's. The nice padded and plush seats. And now that I'm older I've turned into my pops. I listen to the engine more than the radio so I dont mind the little bit louder truck.

That sheet of plywood increased the valve of the 71 by 100$, the 5.3l is equivalent to the 327 not the 305 just saying enjoy your guy’s uploads

The new trucks can take you anywhere dependably, but the old one can transport you back in time. My friend had a 72. He would flip the air cleaner, and we would listen to that four barrel open up. That truck floated like it was on a cloud. I have 7 old cars and trucks. I get it, but many don't.

I had a two tone (white cab, seafoam green body) '71 Chev 3/4 ton pickup when I was young and LOVED it. (It was my Dad's.) If you can drive a truck in the after-life, this one's for me. I can still remember the license plates LLX 321, and pulling in the camper mirrors when I parked in a ramp. Loved the long bench seat and simple gauges. Filled the back with sand during the winter (and was always helping others who were stranded.) The 350 engine was easy to work on. Loved the sound of the muffler on a cold day. This baby's my sentimental favorite FOREVER.

The one thing that all 3 brands seem to all forget about is the bed especially the height of them and the unuseable lengths of beds on new trucks i saw a man at a home depot trying to get up in the bed of a new ford f250 to load plywood and fell off the stupidly high tailgate and crushed his shoulder and arm so badly his bones were protruding out of his arm they had to lifeflight him because of internal injuries from the damn tailgate fall. My 02 chevy 1500 4x2 is like your 71 c10 low bed i can reach over the side and get up in the bed with ease i think these engineers need to take some of the older trucks and design beds with practcal heights again

I have a 71 C10 Hotrod and my Dad has a 72 C20 work truck. We love those trucks.

Great comparison video! Today's mid-sized trucks are similar in size to the full sized trucks of the 70's.

I parked next to a early 90’s gmt 400 the other day in my 19’ Silverado. What a difference even 30 years makes.
