I Recently took on the daunting challenge of learning Steve Vai's "For the Love of God" in it's entirety. I have never really been one to use a WAH effect, but considering that this song is a huge milestone for me, I wanted to do it right. Onto Reverb I went and purchased a used Dunlop Cry-Baby for around $55 USD. Learning to use the effect properly was a little tricky, but didn't take long to get used to. In all my practicing, I eventually noticed the really loud squeak emanating from it when I would depress the expression pedal. It was so loud that it was leaking into the recording while I was tracking guitars. I could have paid Cuitar Genter $50-80 to open it up, diagnose it, and fix it... or do it myself for the cost of a can of lube. With my thirst for guitar and electronics knowledge, I knew it was just one more chance for me to learn something... and also because I'm against lighting my money on fire just to watch it burn.

PB Blaster works great to get rid of the squeak.
