As far as I'm concerned, as CBS fell into third place, ABC tried to woo KFSN, WTVD (two of the stations were owned by Capital Cities Communications, which also owns other stations in the portfolio, which was affiliated with ABC), WBAL (the only non-ABC station in the portfolio at that time was owned by Hearst Broadcasting, which owns other stations in the portfolio affiliated with ABC) and KTSP (the only non-ABC station in the portfolio at that time was owned by Gulf Broadcasting, which owns other stations in the portfolio affiliated with ABC), but as WBAL and KTSP failed, only KFSN and WTVD succeeded, becoming ABC O&Os.

1985-86 CBS dropped from 1st to 2nd. Their Top 10 shows that season were Murder, She Wrote (#3), 60 Minutes (#4), and Dallas (#6). The Fall 1985 shows that returned in Fall 1986 were The Equalizer and The Twilight Zone. Spring 1986 was the end of Trapper John, M.D.; Airwolf, and Crazy Like a Fox.
