APOC Mini Radiation Detector

Matt and David were kind enough to lend me their APOC Mini Radiation Detector prototype, and I used it to find the sources of radiation in my life... enjoy!

For those who enjoy the geeky/nerdy details like me:

My wife's original treatment was 12 mCi of I-131 on the 15th at noon. We filmed these clips around 9PM on the 28th, so approximately 13.75 days had gone by. I-131 has a half-life of 8 days, so ~1.7 half-lives had passed (meaning ~30.4% of the radiation remained). Her thyroid's absorption rate was measured at 78% initially, so in the end approximately 2.8 mCi was in her thyroid when we shot this. About 10% of the emissions from I-131 are in the form of gamma rays, so the activity you're seeing is from ~0.3 mCi of gamma radiation!

Heh heh. Hot wife...funny funny, but I think I like the "magic...er, I mean radiation" comment better. Should have held it by your cell phone.
