Teaching is too dangerous, too politically charged, too much work for such little pay in Florida. If 9, 000 teachers left, there’s something seriously wrong, and then their workload is going to fall on you. And because of that, more will bail out in September.

This is happening all over the country. Teaching isnt worth it any more. I left in 2006, they couldn't pay me enough to go back into the classroom.

9, 000? Try multiplying this across 50 states. We are so screwed in this country. You can't just snap your fingers and produce them.

Who wants to work for someone who will sue you...tough shit Florida.. You created this problem

Considering how teaching is being used for a political football by DeSantis, this is not surprising.

Naturally it's happening in Florida. Look who's governor.
Next stop: Texas.

Why would anyone want to teach in such a backwards place for some of the worst pay in the country?

This should suprise noone. Maybe stop passing laws against teachers being able to speak or do anything that is politically inconvenient. And increase pay and benefits. Treat them like other government employees.

🤔 It’s not only pay 💰, it’s students behavior, administrative moral, Certified teachers who can’t teach, etc

Pay the Teachers a livable wage! Plus bonuses!

Well when you can't teach the truth anymore, why bother.

We'll also see how the kids deal with pretending slavery never existed, and that gay is a choice. Can't imagine the kids will accept the lies.

I wouldn't be a teacher if they paid me six figures. I used to think being a teacher might be pretty cool. Not anymore, and not for many years now.

What’s that saying “those who can’t do, teach?”… Apparently, teachers 👩🏼‍🏫 can do other stuff and they’re doing it more and more!

Florida Teachers should be a dime a dozen... you don't need any qualifications...
just ask DaSatanz what it is you want the Children to Learn and he will give you the approved books to show the Students...
don't really expect for your kids to learn much of anything in that state... good effort though

Who would want to even live in Florida, much less be a teacher there?

Doing everything but addressing the real problem, that problem is pay.

As a certified teacher myself, it is the single reason I refuse to teach in Florida. I cant even afford a one bed apartment on that shitty salary. No way.

The "don't say gay" and "do not teach history" bills were "fantastic" for recruitment.

Yeah, I wouldn't want to be teacher in Florida either tbh. Seems like the state as whole has an utter disrespect for them.
