Bill Maher, thanks for the comic relief over the hunt for the escaped convicts from Clinton Correctional. I live 40 miles from the place, and officers swept my hometown, not once but twice looking for those a-holes. The cops have no idea what they're doing! Even Cuomo said, "For all I know, they could be in Mexico by now."

So much for jumping over the fenc- I mean, the 20-foot gap in the woods to cross into the Canadian border!

The P gene determines hair, skin and eye color.
 In its original form, it creates black skin, brown eyes and dark hair. When mutated, it can take the form of one of the four oculocutaneous albinism (OCA) genes. Type 1(OCA1) is the most severe form of albinism with no melanine in eyes (red) or skin. Type 2 (OCA2) is responsible for blond or red hair and blue eyes. Blond hair and blue eyes are caused by the OCA 2 gene. The first modern humans, carrying the original P gene, were therefore of black skin. 
White skin, light hair and blue eyes are the result of  a genetic mutation called type 2 Oculocutaneous Albinism. 
Different types of albinism occur in Africa ( except for type 4 only observed in Japan so far). Some africans, with the OCA2 gene are born with white skin ( presence of some melanin, blue eyes and blond hair) in which case they exhibit the same skin tone and eye color  as European blondes.
The interesting part is that one researcher proved that African Americans and those of certain European descent are very closely related based on their blood samples. In fact, many of the African American subjects were more closely related to the subjects of European descent than they were to each other. That makes sense since we all came from one man.  However, as the human population spread out and settled in certain places, the isolation of the different groups resulted in classic traits. For example, those who settled in Africa developed dark skin because of the melanin needed for the sun and tightly curled hair for the same reason, persons who settled in Europe have light skin because less melanin was needed, people from eastern Asia retain their epicanthic fold to fight off the extreme sunlight and extreme cold experienced in that part of the world, and many native north Americans appear to be darker-skinned Asians because that is where they came from. And, you guessed it, their skin is darker to deal with the more intense heat (which is also the reason why south Asians have darker skin than East Asians). 
The topic of physical charecterizations among people is fascinating, but it is pretty moronic and unintelligent to hate another group of people based on race since we all are "all mixed up". For myself, I know my close ancestors are African, native American, Irish, and Asian, but just think of all those millenia of ancestors. We most likely have some of everything in each of us. That is why, for example, a white couple can have a black child or vice versa.
