Yes, the storms of life can bring hiccups. God knows I stumble and I fall but I still believe in Christ Jesus, because He still keeps me safe till the storm passes by.
God has authority over my life, for He is my Creator.
And I pray for God to guide me, teach me to teach others to ask for forgiveness of sins while we still have the opportunity, repent and prepare for His second coming

This lesson underscores the extreme importance of the religious leader. He is first to receive and believe Jesus and every Word that proceeds out of His mouth. Then he is to share His Word UNedited, UNamended, UNaltered--just as it is written. Let not traditions, no matter how good or seemingly innocent get in the way of inspired Scripture. This is important because his followers depend on him for correct instruction--instruction in righteousness or in holy living.

The KING riding on a donkey? This was to remind the King that he was to be a HUMBLE servant leader not like the kings of the world, proud and lifted up. BECAUSE THE PEOPLE LOVED THE WORLD, they encouraged the King to adopt the ways of the world.
Lesson for us today: Do not encourage our leaders to follow the proud and exalted ways of the world but God's humble, straighforward ways.

Referring to the Old Testament Scriptures Jesus said to the religious leaders: They are they which testify of ME. (See John 5:39)

Nobody has yet pointed out that the Gospel of John was written after the book of Revelation.
John knows that the Nicolaitans are not only coming in the future and will be a major problem, but they are already present and having an impact on the church.
John needs to show his readership, (or audience), that Jesus is not only the Son of God, but very God Himself in the flesh, and that He was not merely "overshadowed" by the "spirit of a god" during His ministry, which then subsequently left him at his crucifixion, as the Nicolaitans taught.
