Morning all! How are your daily long tones going?

There you go Bryan. Finally for me, those trouble spots are becoming easier. I last longer on the low notes. I stay in tune consistently with you on all tones. And I do "tense" my abdomen in my first air intake way before I play the note. When you count the 1 immediately I engage by taking a relaxed breath. Then I keep my muscles kind of tense, ready to apply as I release the air. I call it to "awake your support". I can even breathe in and out and maintain that support. That has helped me achieve the high notes with the breath attack.

Appreciate your advice and help on if you're not used to playing long notes its not always a short sprint but regularity over time when get near the end from d sharp and high or not very good air stream tried to open lips to allow even air flow and keep lips vibrating. Still it seems like it turns everything off on higher notes. Sometimes if I go up the scale I am able to reach higher notes. You sounded more open today and able to reach the without trying to squeeze the notes or try two or three times. You are to be commended for your good progress. Thanks instructor see you tomorrow. hi bryan! i ask this because sometimes you are running out of air on the low notes: have you ever tried paul mayes' approach? only passive release of air, no blowing at all! you take a deep breath and then you just release the air in a completely passive way! like from a balloon filled with air. you dont need to press it to release the air, you just open a little the spot where the air can escape.

Hey Bryan! Felt good today, mostly. Trying to follow your breathing advice, keep chest up, engage core. Maybe a little too much. Didn't quite balance right on the top F and fell upwards a couple of times. And on the lower end I felt I restricted my intake a little and only got to 29s G and F# 🤪. Still figuring it all out. Happy Friday!
