It’s funny how you say, “just lazy I guess” 😂 You are literally cutting your own wood, nothing lazy about your process! Thanks for the helpful information

One of the best «DIY how to» videos I have come across. Informative, to the point and swift without any boring parts. Ten thumbs up!

Thanks for the video! We had to cut some trees in the backyard last week, and seemed like a waste to let all that wood to go. I think I know now what to do! =)

I had no idea it took up to a year to dry out lumber and also why processed wood has those paint marks on the end. Thanks for making this. TIL

Wow I didn't think it took quite that long. Good video thanks for sharing. I want to cut some big logs to make an outdoor tv stand using the logs for legs. I was trying to figure out how I might cut them straight enough for a base. You gave me some ideas thanks.

Hey, great job. I gave this a go with my electric chain saw and got some really good bowl blanks and flat boards. Diffidently liked and subscribed my friend.

Thank you very much for this informative video, It’s 4am and I’m stoned wondering how a plank is made and my mind is blown that it takes a year to make a plank

Really enjoyed this video--I'd wondered how logs are made into lumber, and it was great to see the process step by step. Thanks for sharing this.

Holy cow! That's so much effort. I'd burn it as firewood long before I'd go that far.

My jaw dropped when I heard how long it takes to dry the wood just to use it. Idk if I have that space...

I like to run mine through the jointer first for a good flat surface. Nice job

I said «8 months?!» out loud

I got some yellow birch I want to use for an axe handle. Is there a quicker way to dry your planks? The wood is from a forest with some sentimental value, and I was excited to use it, but 8 months is so long when this project is exciting right now, you know?

Hey paul. really enjoy the Victory vids. Installed a Wolf bad boy and a throttle ring on my 2013 Victory xct. after watching your helpful vids. Also, was a hi lead logger for 24 yrs. Semper fi. Hope to run into you on the road someday . Thanks Jeff.

simply attach the log to the boards with a few self-tapping screws to get an even cut, then simply slide it along the guide

Can you do the same with a table saw? What sort of blades do you recommend.
I run my wood twice to get the cut all the way through height wise…

I did this with some fruit wood i had (plum/apricot and apple). Oh man was the splitting horrible as it dried. I didn't put anything on the ends though///it all became firewood. I think fruit wood isn't the most stable lumber. I used a thicker blade on my craftsman 14 inch. Its fun to do but really only for small projects because its a lot of work///
