Anne's shown to be such a contradiction in so many ways but there are two instances that can leave you in no doubt of her character: one is when she understands *completely* non-judgementally when Ann doesn't want to have sex and the other is when she refuses Ann's loan if they're not married. It's so clear how principled Anne is that it almost doesn't matter to what extent you agree with her beliefs, you just know she'll abide by her ways.
