You know how I can tell this list was not made by anyone who grew up in the 80s? Because I grew up in the 80s. There are lots and lots of songs WAY cheesier than these. What list like this worth its salt could possibly leave off "Two Of Hearts" by Stacey Q? If you've never heard the song, go listen to it and tell me that it is less cheesy than any single song on this list. How bogus.

The story behind “Whip It” song and video is great. The song is a mocking of motivational speakers and the video actually came from a real life rodeo act in the 50s. Not at all cheesy.

You know who needs to be on that list (check out) Eddie Murphy's "Party All the Time." It's cheesy.

*What some consider one hit wonders are only because some only knew one song by the group, or only knew the most played song by the group. Devo isn't a one hit wonder and neither is Frankie Goes to Hollywood. The rest were pretty spot on.*

Martha Walsh was the lead singer of the weather girls, She sang lead on Gonna make you Sweat & Here We Go by C&C Music Factory. Everybody Everybody & Strike it up by Black Box and many other 90's hits.

Cutting Crew were not a one-hit wonder even if we're talking about the US. They had another Top 10 hit in the US.

The watchmojo lists are often not that accurate, I must say. Cutting Crew is not cheesy at all and Frankie Goes To Hollywood were just a one hit wonder in the US, but they had several other hit songs in other countries (Two Tribes was #1 in UK and Germany, The Power Of Love #1 in the UK / #4 in Germany, Rage Hard #1 in Germany / #4 in the UK, Welcome to the Pleasuredome #2 in the UK / #9 in Germany).
Some cheesy songs that come to my mind and that I missed in a list like this are Superfreak by Rick James, Somebody's Watching Me by Rockwell, Love Missile F1-11 by Sigue Sigue Sputnik (wasn't a hit in the US, but in the UK and Germany), Falco - Rock Me Amadeus (he had more hits in Germany and Austria, but in the US it was his only one), Musical Youth - Pass the Dutchie, Eddie Murphy - Party All The Time, The Firm - Star Trekkin' (#1 in the UK, but not succesful elsewhere) or Woodpeckers From Space by Video Kids (#1 in Norway and South Africa, #4 in Germany, #6 in Switzerland, not released in the US).

What on earth? Mate, 'She Blinded Me With Science' is not cheesy. Although it's techno, it's got a groove!

They missed one: "I Wanna Be A Cowboy" by Boys Don't Cry. I would argue that this rivals "Micky" for the top spot.

Grew up in the 70s and 80s - so much variety. Loved almost all of the music, no matter the genre. No offense to Toni Basil, but I hated "Micky".

I'd have to throw Moon Zappa's "Valley Girl" in there somewhere.

This list blows. So much cheese in the 80's this really isn't it.

I think you'll find a great collection of cheese in any of those K-Tel "Best Of" records that they advertise on TV. They play a few clips, and you hear the damn commercial so many times that the songs stick in your mind IN THE ORDER OF THE COMMERCIAL!

Mickey: A great song by a great choreographer in her forties. So beautiful and talented.

Devo wasn't a one hit wonder. They had a song called "Through Being Cool" make it to the #7 in Billboards Hot 100 chart in 81. While "Whip It" only made it to #14 in the same chart in 1980. So I would say this person doesn't do very much as far as research goes. By the way " Through Being Cool" was in the movie "Heavy Metal". Don Felder of the Eagles fame did a song called "Taking a Ride" also in Heavy Metal.

The '80's is when I essentially dropped out of Pop music and dove, head-first into Smooth Jazz. I still love it!
