You know the reason Cardano is a transactions per transaction system (eUTxO) and therefor reaching in practice 1 million TPS, is because the model is off-chain, which is where the whole crypto industry is going. That is a prerequisite for decentralization. Solana does all of its transactions on-chain, which means that the ledger is approaching 300 terabytes. It's on pace to 1 exabyte, which no ordinary person can have storage for. That is making Solana hypercentralized and therefor the opposite of what the crypto industry stands for.

James, while I don't completely disagree about Solana and its ecosystem, I think you also have to consider that a lot of people are trying to farm airdrops right now. For example with Jupiter, a lot of people are using it in hopes of getting their token when it launches. I'd be curious to see what the activity looks like in a few months or a year after all the airdrops have happened.
