Georgian president addresses European Parliament

Показать описание
In light of the ongoing protests in Georgia, the country's president, Salome Zourabichvili, will address the European Parliament in Strasbourg.
The protests emerged after the Georgian government’s decision to pause the country’s EU accession process following the disputed parliamentary elections in October 2024, in which the ruling Georgian Dream party claimed victory.
MEPs rejected the outcome of the scrutiny and called for new elections after the findings of electoral violations, including documented cases of intimidation of voters, vote manipulation, interference with election observers and the media and reported manipulation involving electronic voting machines.
