👉 Learn how to solve literal equations. A literal equation is an equation where the unknown values are represented by variables. To solve a literal equation means to make one of the variables the subject of the formula. When the literal equation is a rational equation, we first apply the cross-product property to reduce the literal equation and then we regroup the expression taking all the terms having the desired variable to one side of the equality sign. We then use the simple algebraic process of undoing all the algebraic operations related to the variable we want to solve for.
