⁴ᴷ R142 and R142A (6) Train Action

Weekend construction split the (6) Line into two sections, the first one from Brooklyn Bridge to 125th Street and on the (4) to 149th Street and the other section from 125th Street to Pelham Bay Park. This resulted in some Jerome Yard consists being used in service on the (6). Since May of last year, the (6) has been comprised of exclusively R62A cars. It was nice to see R142s and R142As running on the line once again. In addition, the former Livonia/Corona R62A set (1931-27-52-23-40) can be seen at 68th Street towards the end of the video.

It was nice to see NTTs running on the 6 line. It's a throwback. For those who think this is permanent, it's not. However, as of April 1st, this G.O. will occur for two more weekends (April 13-15 and 20-22). That means that whoever couldn't catch it the first time, you have two more opportunities to do so.

The r142 and r142a are getting cbtc equipment installed in 2020.

This brings back the great memories from back in the day! I really enjoyed this weekend. Seeing that maybe the Lexington Avenue Line might get CBTC in the future makes it very exciting to see what the (6) may get Incase if anything. Awesome Video!

R62a on the 6 train are going to be here for a little bit more . Between 2020-2024 we will see the all new r262 trains on the 6 line

The first time I took the (6), the model was R142A. I was disappointed my second time when I found out the R142A model was temporary.

Guys, don't even think that R142A has returned to the 6 line. It don't make sense whatever if R188 would be on the 6 line and R142A on the 7 line that R142A was tested on the 7 line, turned to R188. The hell!
